Frenchie had a litter of gorgeous mini poodles on March 14, 2025. At 12:30 am (of course it is always when you are ready to go to bed and very tired from a long day) French started to really stir in bed. My hubby tells me that she is up in his face digging at our blankets so this is my que to get the dog OUT OF OUR BED lol. We head to the whelping pen and sure enough, by 1:00 am she is in active labor and her first water sac has broken. Much time has passed and I couldn't believe the thoughts that were going through my head. Each time a momma goes into labor still feels like a first time for me. I am a wreck, so anxious and worried about my girl. Even though Frenchie is my biggest girl, they can still have complecations so I wondered if a puppy was too big and if I needed to head to the ER.
Just when I was about to throw in the towel and pack up my Frenchie, I see progress. at 4:00 am the pushing has become more aggressive and much stronger contractions which resulted in FINALLY puppy number one being born. Pierre was born at 4:17 am weighing 6.7 ounces. He was the biggest puppy in the litter so thankfully she got the hardest over first. Pierre is a black abstract (black with white markings).
It wasn't long and puppy number two was on her way! At 4:35 am we welcomed our little Paris into the world! Paris is a clone of Frenchie and what we have been wanting badly! She weighed 6.2 ounces and she is our keeper. She will not be posted for sale.
Frenchie took a little bit of a break and rested until her contractions started back up again. At 5:36 am, puppy number three entered our world. This little beauty is a gorgeous red female we are calling Siene and she weighed 6 ounces. Siene is the smallest in the litter and possibly going to look just like her beautiful daddy.
This litter of little chubsters are growing rapidly and eating very well for momma Frenchie. They now have their eyes open and are scooting around their area when Frenchie leaves them to eat. They are darling and with such amazing parents, they are bound to have excellent personalities! These puppies will be sent home with pet registration papers. They are from health tested parents, will be microchipped, vetted, and current on vaccinations before leaving us. I anticipate they will be able to leave on May 9th. Pierre was the first born and weighed in at a whopping 6.7 ounces. He is so pretty and the perfect combination of both mom and dad in so many ways. Pierre is black with white markings and can be reserved with a deposit after speaking with us. We normally set our first puppy exam at 8 weeks of age. Once our vet gives us the thumbs up, Pierre can go home. Dew claws have already been removed and tail docked longer for a nice pompom. It is too early to tell size of maturity but we anticipate him to be a very small mini.

She is smaller and dainty but should still be a very small miniature (possibly over 10 inches as mom is). This litter is so beautiful. Siene can be reserved with a deposit after speaking with us. Oreo did it again...gave us another beautiful baby! Little Cookie was born on March 15, 2025 weighing 6.2 ounces. This is big for such a tiny momma. This was Oreo's last litter. She has big birthweight babies and it is too difficult for her to have them. All of her puppies have remained so tiny when grown though so I guess this girl just loves to eat! Her baby boy will look a lot like her. I expect him to be around 5 pounds when grown but it is much to early to tell. Mommy had a C-section and was spayed so she is not raising him. We let our momma Frenchie take over due to all the surgery and soreness. Cookie is growing fast and is a little fatty! Frenchie has very rich milk!

There was absolutely no anticipation for this litter to arrive when it did because her due date was two days later. I normally try to compare each delivery to the one before. I looked at the mating date, the number of days gestation and how long she carried her litter in the past. It certainly did not add up to her delivering on April 3rd! If anything, it would be a week later lol. So here we are, another gorgeous litter from Malibu! This time we did not breed her to a parti so we had mis-mark/abstract puppies. They are always born dark apricot/light red and then darken as they grow. Nothing has changed there. These babies are darkening now and already appearing red.
Malibu is such a great mom! She is one that does not leave their side the first few days and I have to be very watchful to make sure she is eating. I really have to entice her to get up and eat because she doesn't want to leave her kiddos. She is getting much better now that the babies are a few days old. They are getting to be chubby little poodles too! Check out Malibu and Ariat's first litter together! Three stunning little toy poodle babies posted below, better photos to come soon. Skye was the second born from this awesome litter. He is the only boy and he is fairly small although they look like pudgy little piggies right now. Our momma dogs feed their babies very well so it is very difficult to tell sizes on our babies at an early age. I do believe he will be a tiny toy as Malibu comes from some small genetics and Ariat is small.

Our puppy #3 is Splash, she was last to be born but I am sure she packs a punch as she is the smallest and the small ones always end up with attitude and run the show lol. She is a little red abstract girl and will likely be closer to dad's size when grown. My guess is around 4 pounds but right now she is a little fatty as she nurses all the time. I don't know what has gotten into my girls lately. I breed them and mark the date right away. I know the day is correct and then I use an online gestation calculator to give me the earliest possible due date. So Dottie was due on April 20th. However, I noticed she was acting a bit off for the last day or so. All day yesterday she was not eating and just acting like she was ready to pop. By midnight, she had a bubble (water sac emerging) and had started early stages of labor. She wasn't real active for the next couple of hours and then at 3:15 am on April 17th, she whelped puppy #1. This beauty is a female parti poodle that appears to possibly be anywhere from apricot to red in color but they are born white so I have to wait to see the color come in before knowing for sure. Dottie took a very long break and had to have a boost of oxytocin to get going again several hours later. Puppy #2 was born at 10:30 am and is an apricot female. We won't know how dark the apricot color is going to be for a few weeks as a lot of time they can darken.
As the day. went on, Dottie just napped and took care of her first two newborns. She was in no distress, no pain, and certainly no hurry. By 3:00 pm I was pretty tired and thought she needed a boost to get this whelping process over. We packed up and headed to our vets office almost an hour away for a shot of oxytocin. That did the trick! At 5:20, puppy #3 was born after only five minutes of contractions and a few light pushes! This baby is another apricot/cream little girl. She needed her lungs cleared out and a couple minutes of nebulizer meds to strengthen her lungs for good breaths. By the time she was breathing good and pinked up, Dottie was pushing puppy #4 out! This one was quite different looking. Its the only boy in the litter and he appears black with a little white on him. However, I think by looking at his paw pads, he might be silver:) I'm hoping he is because I just love silvers!

As they adjust and color comes in, we will take new photos, price them, and post them available. They are not ready to be reserved just yet. Strawberry Shortcake (now Lucy) - Apricot Parti Female

Strawberry Shortcake is reserved now so her name Lucy came from her new family. She is a stunning apricot parti female and we expect her to be small like her parents. This is one of the most beautiful litters! They were simply born adorable! Keep watch as we update pics over the next several weeks. We love this pairing as we had no idea what to expect. No one was dissappointed by these beauties!

Huckleberry Pie- Silver/Blue Abstract Male

Huckleberry Pie is the only male in this litter. He is black with white markings but he will likely turn silver or blue as his dad is silver. As his coat grows out we will find out. He is adorable and probably the most active puppy so far. He is quiet but he scoots all over his little area. He doesn't seem to mind being held which is sometimes scary for these little ones. We start handling them more and more as they get older.

Apple Dumpling is a beautiful apricot abstract female. She is a chubby puppy like the rest of the Strawberry Shortcake gang! These puppies are so cute. They are not noisy as some do a lot of whimpering. I do think that they will be like mom and dad...great poodles! Orange Blossom - Apricot Female

Orange Blossom is the smallest in the litter. She is also the lighter of the two apricot girls. They are very cute with a lot of white on their bellies and white feet. Mom being a parti poodle and dad carries the parti gene, this entire litter got lots of white markings (abstract). They all have cute little faces too. These poodles will not have long poodle noses at all. Keep watch on these cuties as we update while they grow.
